Flowers: Flowers pale-reddish, c. 15 mm across, in peduncled, extra axillary umbellate cymes. Corolla lobes spreading, up to c. 7 mm long, densely hairy outside, the pubescence giving a marginal fringe to the lobes. Follicles up to c. 7.5 cm long, rostrate tapering, muricate with prominent tubercles or short, soft spines.
