Lavandula dentata L.
Densely silvery-tomentose, much branched, bushy shrub up to c. 75 cm tall. Leaves sessile, linear, up to c. 20-35 x 2-3 mm, with the strongly revolute margins crenate-dentate. Flowers in terminal dense, up to c. 5 cm long spikes; apical bracts 8- 12 mm long, deep lilac, forming a showy coma at the tip of each spike; the verticillasters several-flowered. Floral bracts purple, cuneate, basally narrowed, retuse, mucronate, c. 5 x 6 mm. Calyx tubular, purple, ribbed, densely silvery-tomentose, c. 6 mm long, 8-toothed, lower 7 teeth small, trianglar, the upper laterally expanded as a wide reniform appendage c. 1.5 mm long, 2.5 mm wide. Corolla densely white tomentose outside, pale blue, the tube scarcely exserted, inflated above; limb almost equally 5-lobed. Nutlets brownish, broadly oblong, c. 1.5 x 1 mm
