Cleome chrysantha Decne.
Strong-smelling, low perennial, herbaceous shrub up to about 50 cm high with an indumentum of long and minute glandular hairs along with stipitate glands . leaves from almost sessile to usually relatively long-petioled,with the petiole up to25 mm long,simple; lamina ovate to orbiculate,thick,rarely reaching 20mm in length. Flowers axillary with leaf-like bracts and relatively long pedicels which become recurved to characteristically circinate in fruit. sepals purple-tipped, oblong-ovate, glandular-villous on the outer side, up to 7 mm long. Petals yellow, clawed, obovate, up to 7 mm long, shortly appendiculate at base in the form very small pouches stamens (8-) 10 - 14 fruit densely villous, broadly elliptic to almost globular, up to c.8x 5-6mm. seed glabrous,tuberculate-looking reticulate,c1mm.
